I love accidentally stumbling on cool events when I go somewhere. And when we were in Bucharest last week, we kept seeing signs for something called the Spotlight Festival. To be honest, I was mostly ignoring it because I thought it was an electronic music festival, but then we saw some installations go up around Victory Avenue and realized it was actually a four-day light show that was taking place every night. For almost a mile from the river to Revolution Square, every major building was lit up along Victory Avenue, which was full of interesting light sculptures.
Apparently the festival has been an annual staple in Bucharest since 2015. It takes place in the spring, and though you can enjoy some of the sculptures during the day, the real fun takes place after 8:30 pm when everything is lit up. I had gotten accidentally drunk right before this, so some of these pictures might look a little off. But the experience was magical.
